ENROLLING IN A COURSE OFFERED THROUGH
THE OFFICE OF CONTINUING EDUCATION
K-STATE AT SALINA

Effective with the Fall 2008 semester, all students, whether they are on-campus or distance students, whether they are degree-seeking or nondegree-seeking, must be admitted to K-State before they can enroll in a course.  This is new for students taking courses through the Division of Continuing Education (DCE).  DCE students previously could just take a course without having to be admitted to the university.

The following information will guide DCE students through the admission and enrollment process.

To enroll in a class offered through the K-State at Salina Office of Continuing Education (distance education classes, concurrent credit classes at the high schools, etc.), begin at www.salina.k-state.edu. Click on 'Distance Students' at the top. This link will direct you to a page where you can select the appropriate semester for which you are enrolling. A list of courses will appear.

  1. Find the class you wish to take and click on the class title.
  2. Verify that this is the correct course, select a Credit/Tuition Option and add the class to your Class Interest List.
  3. Repeat these steps for any additional classes you wish to take.
  4. Print your Class Interest List or make a note of your Class Numbers (Class Nbr).
  5. Answer the mandatory "Getting Started" questions.
  6. If you are a current, admitted student, go to #8, step "c".
  7. If you are not already a current, admitted student, complete the appropriate degree-seeking Or nondegree-seeking** application form.
** To the question “Do you wish to pursue a degree or certificate” answer 'No'. You can now fill out the "Undergraduate Admission Form" to be admitted quickly (approximately 24 hours) as a nondegree-seeking student and continue with your enrollment process.  You can formally apply as a degree-seeking student after enrollment, if that is your intention.
  8. Once you are notified that you have been admitted, you can create your K-State electronic identifier (eID), and enroll for your classes through iSIS (K-State's student information system). Instructions follow:
    a.   Obtain an electronic identifier (eID) that will allow you to log in to K-State systems. Browse to http://eid.k-state.edu and click on the "Register now!" link.
    b.   You will need to verify your affiliation to K-State as a student with your Wildcat ID (WID), (which will be included with your admission confirmation email), your birth date, gender, and last name.
    c.    Log on to iSIS at http://isis.k-state.edu using your eID and password.
    d.    Click on the "Student Center" link.
    e.    In your Student Center, click on "Add a Class" in the left-hand Enrollment column.
    f.     Select the correct term, and click "Continue."
    g.    Enter the "Class Number" from your Class Interest List that you printed from the Division of Continuing Education website and click "enter."
    h.    Confirm class and finish enrolling. A green check mark will signify a successful enrollment.
